Print of Charles Dickens's face superimposed onto the body of a jackdaw with the plumes of a peacock from an illustration in the Victorian magazine 'Mephostopheles' dated 31 January 1846. This was after Dickens took editorship of the 'Daily News'. The depiction of Dickens as a jackdaw poked fun at his and the newspaper's pretence to be something it wasn't.
