Label: Dickens wrote many ghost stories over his career, most famously A Christmas Carol. To Be Read At Dusk was another of his ghost stories, written in 1852. It is set in the Swiss Alps, where Dickens had lived and travelled in 1846 and later also set his play No Thoroughfare. This book contains several short stories and articles written by Dickens, some of which had been written anonymously for publications like The Examiner which had been edited by his friend John Forster. The introduction is written by Frederic Kitton, an illustrator of Dickens's stories and a founding member of the Dickens Fellowship.
