Label: Dickens had written and edited a weekly magazine called Household Words since March 1850, however in 1858 he had a major falling-out with his publishers, Bradbury & Evans. Dickens had separated from his wife, Catherine, and written a public statement deriding her competence as a wife and mother. Many of Dickens's peers disagreed with his statement and several who were publishers refused to print it, including Evans. Dickens responded by abandoning Bradbury & Evans and Household Words and returning to his former publishers Chapman & Hall with this new magazine All The Year Round. The titles for both magazines take their names from Shakespeare quotes.
