- Brief description
- Pickwick Papers, Vol. I, 1837
- Label
- The Pickwick Papers, also known as The Pickwick Club (the full title was The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club) was Dickens's first novel, published serially between 1836 and 1837 when he was 25-26 years old. At that time Dickens was a journalist and magazine editor who had written short stories or 'sketches' under the nickname 'Boz' (a nasal mispronounciation of 'Moses'). It would not be until later novels that Dickens would be better know by his surname instead of 'Boz'.
