- This Swedish translation of Great Expectations was first published in 1950 (this edition came out 1977). The translator, Margareta Ångström, was a prolific translator of French and English literature into Swedish and co-authored a Swedish-English dictionary in 1940. She was married to Hilding Ångström, grandson of Anders Jonas Ångström, the famous Swedish physicist whom the scientific unit 'angstrom' (used to measure atoms and wavelengths) is named after. Margareta died in 1969.
