Brief description
Signed programme for 'Fagin's Den' at Broadway Theatre, 1909
Label
This adaptation of Oliver Twist was produced by The Dickens Fellowship Dramatic Society and written by Dickens collectors and enthusiasts Walter Dexter and Frederick Harry. It was actor Bransby Williams’s first appearance as a Dickensian character, rather than impersonating Dickens. Professionals and amateurs often joined together in this way to raise money for charity and promote Dickens’s legacy.
