Label: This miniature copy of A Christmas Carol is six by four centimetres in size, making it a 'macrominiature'. It is part of a series of suede-bound miniatures published by Chapman & Hall in 1906. The original A Christmas Carol publication in 1843 was the cause for Dickens's 15-year break with Chapman & Hall, as complications arising from the meagre profits (worsened by pirated editions and a costly lawsuit) led Dickens to break his contract and work with Bradbury & Evans until returning to Chapman & Hall in 1859.
