- Vedat Kokona was an Albanian linguist and translator who published French-Albanian and English-Albanian dictionaries and translated thousands of poems and stories into Albanian, including David Copperfield. Kokona was born in 1913, just after Albania became independent from the Ottoman Empire (modern Turkey), and lived through the Italian and Nazi occupations as well as the communist dictatorship of Enver Hoxha. This copy was donated by Kokona's daughter and contains an inscription from her and her sister.
