- Brief description
- Historias de Fantasmas [Ghost Stories in Brazilian Portuguese], 2009
- Label
- Dickens wrote many ghost stories throughout his career, most famously A Christmas Carol. This book contains many of his stories translated to Brazilian Portuguese. It includes his better-known standalone ghost stories, including To Be Read At Dusk and The Signalman but also includes 'The Goblins who Stole a Sexton', his first ghost story, which appeared in a chapter of his first novel The Pickwick Papers. It tells the story of magical creatures who kidnap a miserly gravedigger around Christmas and teach him to be kinder — showing Dickens already had the idea for his most famous Christmas story years earlier.
