Label
A 'trial edition' was a copy printed before the public release - typically only a few were printed for review by friends and family. The main difference between this and the 'proper' first edition of A Christms Carol is the title page is printed in green instead of blue. Dickens preferred green as it suited the holly illustration but the green colour was too inconsistent and so blue was chosen instead.
