- Brief description
- Letter, from John Dickens to Thomas Beard, October 1836
- Label
- Dickens's father John is inviting family friend Thomas Beard to 'take his goose' with them (join them for a goose dinner). The Beard and Dickens families were very close - both John and Charles Dickens wrote to and dined with Thomas often. Here John has unusually spelled his daughter-in-law Catherine's name with a K rather than C.
