This scrapbook album was compiled by the artist Robert Willliam Buss, who created it in 1872 for his son Septimus. It contains reproductions, ephemera and newspaper clippings about Buss and his work. Robert William Buss (4 August 1804 – 26 February 1875) was a Victorian artist, etcher and illustrator best known for his unfinished painting 'Dickens' Dream', which is part of the Charles Dickens Museum's collection. Buss's grandson, Rev F. Fleetwood Buss, also made additions to the scrapbook as late as 1940.
