Brief description: Six Dickens characters beer mugs made by T. G. Green, about 1950s
Label: Collectibles of Dickens's works, such as plates, spoons, figurines and mugs, have existed for as long as Dickens has been popular and were even made while he was alive. These beer mugs were produced in the 1950s by T. G. Green & Co. for Bass Brewery in Burton-upon-Trent. According to the pottery company's archives it is unknown why Bass chose Dickens characters for their collectible mugs. Dickens himself did not seem to drink much beer - he drank things like rum, sherry, champagne, and punch, which he was particularly fond of.
