Edgar Bundy painted this scene from Charles Dickens's novel 'Nicholas Nickleby' some time after the author's death. It depicts the Dotheboy's Hall school in Bundy's detailed and narrative style. Born in Brighton in 1862, the painter became a Royal Academician in April 1915 despite having no formal artistic training. He died in London in 1922.
