- Quill pen said to have been owned by Charles Dickens

- This quill pen was used by Dickens, presumably near the end of his live. This is because the tip (the 'nib') is stained with blue ink. Dickens wrote in black ink in his youth but switched to blue ink in the later decades of his life. The quill was allegedly kept by Isaac Armatage, Dickens's page boy (a young servant), who had raced on horseback for the doctor on the night of Dickens's death in June 1870. Despite the invention of steel writing pens, Dickens preferred quills.
