- This copy of Alexander Dyce's English Sonnets belonged to Dickens and contains a bookplate (a label pasted into the front cover) showing it was in his library at Gad's Hill Place, his home in Kent. John Forster, Dickens's friend and biographer, was also friends with Dyce and was the executor of both men's wills when they died (Dyce in 1868, Dickens in 1870).
