- Brief description
- Poster for 'The Mystery of Edwin Drood Musical' at Savoy Theatre, 1987
- Label
- Dickens's death in 1870 left his last novel, Edwin Drood, unfinished. Many attempted to complete it over the following century and a half, leading to multiple proposed endings to the mystery. In 1985 this musical adaptation which opened on Broadway, New York, was the first Broadway musical with multiple endings. Each night the audience would vote in the interval to determine the ending. In 1987 it came to the West End at the Savoy Theatre, starring Ernie Wise of Morecambe & Wise.
