The Hogarth Sisters

Catherine, Georgina, and Mary were the daughters of Georgina Hogarth and her husband George, a lawyer and journalist who worked with Sir Walter Scott. All three sisters were deeply involved in Dickens's life: he married Catherine in 1836, Mary died suddenly and tragically in their home a year later, and afterwards Georgina became their housekeeper and stayed with Dickens as his friend and confidant even after he had separated from Catherine in 1858.
